Important update to 2022 RSMeans data and City Cost Index: COVID-19 has had an unprecedented impact on the construction industry for more than a year. The City Cost Index (CCI) is designed to capture that impact through material cost and wage rate changes in the locations currently available. Due to the drastic changes to material costs in 2021, the 2022 Annual Data has some large increases and decreases which may result in some inflated costs in isolated cases. Customers should review all estimates carefully and adjust as necessary. Attention should be paid to Concrete, Steel, Lumber, Copper and Petroleum based products. Any inflated costs will normalize when the First Quarter 2022 CCI is released in January 2022.
