This online course consists of 14 training modules that will take you through the Means CostWorks software. Each module will conclude with a quiz where you can test your knowledge before moving on to the next section.

This seminar focuses on becoming familiar with the basic functionality of Means CostWorks, learning how to use the various data screens, and putting your new skills to use through practical exercises. Topics covered include:

• How to get started using CostWorks, including typical work session and file management.
• Using the setting screen to establish the parameters of the project, including project name, location, and wage rates.
• Using the data screens, including the title bar, menu bar, icon bar, and navigation techniques.
• Using the CostList as a queue to assemble and organize all of your selected line items.
• Localizing costs to your geographic area for greater accuracy and more comprehensive bids.
• Time-saving techniques such as bookmarking common estimate items and using keyword searches.
• Exporting cost information to Windows™ applications, including spreadsheet, worksheet, and text files.
• Using the advanced features of CostWorks, including Means CostWorks Estimator, which helps create customized reports that allow you to quickly adjust or add your own costs and create customized templates.
