Open Titles. Make your selection, then open the cost book title to bring up more information. Open one or more titles within a group, and use the ¨tabs¨ below to move between screens.

Select Location. Costs vary by region, so you’ll need to localize your data. With this smart program, all the numbers you see will be specific to the geographic area you’ve selected!

Wage Rate Utility. Click the Select Wage Rate button on the Settings screen, then look in the dialog box to utilize Union or Open Shop wage rates. (Option available with selected titles)

Search by Division. You can locate cost data by division...¨Glazing¨ — ¨Plumbing Fixtures¨ — ¨Railroad and Marine Work¨ — whatever category applies, using convenient pulldown menus.

Search by Keyword. Enter a Keyword in the dialog box. When the keyword appears, press enter or point and click. Means CostWorks will jump to the corresponding information.

CostCalc. Find out ¨how much for how many¨ by using the CostCalc Toolbar. Enter the required quantity of the highlighted line item. CostCalc will calculate values and totals for one or more items.

Crew Lookup and Print. This function will let you display AND PRINT a list of the labor and equipment you need for a specific task, wages and more.

Graphics. One picture is worth a thousand words! Highlighted line items are matched to realistic graphics.

Reference Information. Quick link to estimating procedures, alternate pricing methods, technical information and more.

CostLists. Build your CostList with Model, Assembly or Unit Price Data. Means CostWorks will save it automatically. When your CostList is complete, you can easily save, print, or export it to a Spreadsheet file or estimating form.

Assembly Costs Screen. Shows Division, Unit of Measure, Materials, Installation Costs and Total Costs.

Assembly Components. To display each factor that went into determining the assembly cost, click on the ¨Components¨ tab.

Square Foot Model Costs. Select your project’s building type, exterior wall construction and building framing options, total square foot of floor area and base perimeter, and common additives. And Means CostWorks calculates the square foot cost localized to your geographic area.
